Liz Dowding Artist

I have been a commercial artist and art tutor for several years, producing designs for the greetings industry in America, mainly Christmas themes. The designs are used on cards, gift wrap and packaging, and it is a fast moving, trend driven environment.

 

I have enjoyed working in this way, but it is only really in the last few years that I have decided to try sell my own paintings, looking at different subjects and using a wider range of media.  A renewed love of painting emerged after seeing inspiring photos from the Lake District and Cumbria. I have really enjoyed using acrylics to create some very large canvasses.

In July 2018, I had a major breakthrough and won the ‘People’s Choice’ in an open exhibition in Loughborough, and the prize was to have my own solo exhibition at the Sock Gallery.
